Free and Open Source (FOSS)-related initiatives in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region are being sought.

Robert Guerra of Privaterra is inviting groups and individuals to help in a research he is doing. Privaterra is an ongoing project of Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility which provides technological education and support for civil society organisations. Guerra is compiling a list of projects, organisations and people who are working on FOSS projects in the Latin America and Caribbean region. He said results of this informal survey will be added to the results of the consultation with a small number of Latin American NGOs during the Fifth International Forum of Software Libre. This event took place last June in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
