The University of Hyderabad is organising the 12th Women's World Congress, 2014, in Hyderabad, India from 17th to 22nd August, 2014. Women's Worlds Congress (WWC) is an International Interdisciplinary Congress on Women, held every three years. The focus of the congress is gender research and interdisciplinary scholarship. This congress is initiated by Worldwide Organization of Women's Studies –WOWS.

We invite Individual papers, Panels and Workshops that engage with the Conference Theme "Gender in a Changing World" from an interdisciplinary perspective.

The  various sub-themes to choose from are as follows,

  2. Gender & Work
  3. Gender & Health
  4. Gender & Information Technology
  5. Gender & Science and Technology
  6. Gender, Globalization, Politics and Policy
  7. Gender & Management
  8. Gender & Law
  9. Gender & Violence

We encourage Panels and Workshop in the following areas also

  1. Women Entrepreneurs
  2. Women's Health
  3. Women's Empowerment
  4. Trafficking of Women
  5. Minority Women’s Issues

Individual Paper, abstracts should be no more than 250 words.

Panel and Workshop should be no more than 300 words.

A proposed panel or workshop should have the names, email add, affiliations of the Participants with a short write up about the theme being presented in the Panel and Workshop.

Guidelines:

Submitting a Workshop and Panel Proposal

The last date for submissions: 31st January, 2014.
Notification of acceptance: on or before 15th February, 2014.

  • Panel proposals are expected to include at least 4 papers on a related theme that the Panel Convenor invites and coordinates.
  • Amongst these one could be Chair and one could be the discussant.
  • A panel proposal should consist of text about the panel theme followed by a series of paper abstracts, all in one Microsoft Word document.
  • This should not be more than 300 words.
  • A workshop should have at least 5 to 8 presenters related to the Conference theme and a Chair and discussant.

Submitting a separate Abstract (for a paper not yet assigned to a Panel)

The last date for submissions: 31st January, 2014.
Notification of acceptance: on or before 15th February, 2014.

Paper abstracts are to be submitted as Microsoft Word documents using a specific format in the attached template.

Conditions of Acceptance

  • The presenting author must register to attend the Conference and present the paper.
  • All authors must attend at least the full day of their presentation.
  • Further papers submitted independently before the last day may subsequently be added to panels, by the Conference Committee, where they fit.
  • Submission of abstracts implies the author’s agreement to publish the abstract in all Conference publications including the website.
  • Acceptance of abstracts does not imply any payment from the Conference Organising Committee.
  • Authors must arrange and pay their own accommodation, travel etc. to attend the Conference.
  • Decisions made by the Review Committee and moderated by the Conference Convenors are final.
