8th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific

Young women having a place at the policy table is one of the visions of the International Women's Health Coalition (IWHC), an organisation focused on the world's most challenging health and rights issues.

It is in this light that IWHC is inviting young women (ages 18-24) to the 8th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP) to discuss and elevate their voices on the subject of HIV/AIDS. This event will be held on August 16-23, 2007 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

IWHC will cover costs for travel, lodging, meals, visas, travel insurance, and registration fees for all ICAAP participants.

For more details and to download application form, visit <http://www.iwhc.org/programs/asia/icaap.cfm>.

Deadline for submission of applications is on April 2, 2007.

Allies for Social Change: Buddhism and Peacebuilding

Organised by the International Women's Partnership for Peace and Justice (IWP), the course “Allies for Social Change: Buddhism and Peacebuilding” will teach women how to use a Buddhist feminist framework in cultivating inner peace while engaging in social action in the community and the world.

This 10-day event will take place from July 26 to August 4, 2007 near Chiang Mai, Thailand. Women of all ages, cultures, religions, and sexual preferences are welcome to join the course.

International Women's Partnership for Peace and Justice (IWP) is a spiritual-based feminist organisation working to support grassroots women's groups in South and Southeast Asia. It is guided by the following three core principles: feminism, social activism, and spiritual practice.
