Asia-Pacific Development Information Programme (APDIP) has released its APDIP e-Note 16/2007: “ICT in Disaster Management.” This e-Note looks at how information and communications technology (ICT) is being used in disaster management, both as an early warning system or as a response and recovery tool. It provides a broad overview of the important role ICT plays in the disaster management process.

“ICT in Disaster Management” also examines the interplay between different ICT media and the stakeholders involved in all phases of disaster management, taking into account the widespread use of both traditional and modern ICT as well as the variety of ICT tools available at present.
