The Women’s World Summit Foundation (WWSF), an international NGO working towards the empowerment of women, children, and NGOs, is now inviting nominations for its 13th annual Prize for Women’s Creativity in Rural Life. This award, which honours creative and courageous women and women’s groups working on improving the quality of life in rural communities globally, aims to draw international attention to women's contributions to sustainable development, household food security and peace, as well as to gain recognition and support for women’s community work.

By highlighting creative development models, innovations, and experiences enhancing the quality of life in rural areas, the WWSF hopes to participate in addressing the eradication of extreme poverty and help stop the drift to urban areas.

Nomination is open to women, or women's groups, who are currently active in rural life. Their efforts should not have been acknowledged yet by other awards. Self-nomination is not allowed.

Entries should highlight any of the following efforts:

- Exceptional courage and perseverance in improving rural life
- Creativity in the approach
- Preservation of and respect for the environment
- Continuing impact on the community

Deadline for nominations is on March 31, 2007.
