The Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law, and Development (APWLD), a women's organisation based in Chiangmai, Thailand, is currently looking for a Programme Officer for Violence against Women and an Information and Communication Officer. Find out how you can apply.

The Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD), an independent, non-government, non-profit organisation committed to enabling women to use law as an instrument of social change for equality, justice, and development is inviting women from the Asia Pacific region with relevant experience and skills to apply for the following positions:

(1) Programme Officer for Violence against Women (VAW)

Interested applicants must have experience in working on issues related to VAW and/or Women’s Human Rights (WHR); and must have a degree in the social sciences; a law degree, or an graduate degree in the social sciences, human rights, or women's studies is an advantage.

Successful applicant will be mainly responsible in coordinating with the Task Forces or Working Group in the planning and implementation of activities under the Violence Against Women Programmes and Cross-cutting initiatives.

(2) Information and Communication Officer

APWLD is looking for applicants who have a degree in communications, journalism, or advanced degree in field of social sciences, human rights, or women's studies; and have excellent command of the English language, both oral and written; proven ability in writing, editing and publishing a range of materials in multimedia forms for a variety of target audiences.

Among the tasks of the Information and Communication Officer include writing, editing and collecting articles and materials for the APWLD regular and special publications, and overseeing to their printing, publication and distribution; promoting and maintaining the APWLD resource center, including collecting and supervising cataloguing materials; and setting up and maintaining the APWLD information/advocacy email listing and website, linking with applicable list-servers and websites.

Applicants for both positions must be committed to the promotion of women’s human rights and must have knowledge of international human rights and development issues in the Asia Pacific.
